Demo issue investigation
Why Do Zombies Stop Working in Graveyard Keeper 2?
Players report undead workers completing several items and then stopping. The symptom is real enough to track, but its cause is not established.
Current answer
There is no confirmed universal cause or fix yet.
One live demo discussion describes zombies making roughly five or six items, stopping, and sometimes resuming later. Players ask whether this is a bug, energy behavior or another rule; none of those explanations is confirmed.
Low zombie level, energy, queue length and a hard item cap are theories—not verified mechanics.
Safe diagnostic pass
Record what the worker was doing when it stopped.
- 01
Check the active job. Note the workstation, selected item and requested amount.
- 02
Check visible inputs and output space. This does not prove the cause; it rules out the simplest blocked-production state.
- 03
Reassign once. Remove and reassign the worker, then observe whether the same stop happens after the same number of items.
- 04
Save the evidence. Record platform, build, workstation, item count and whether loading the save changes the behavior.
Confirmed system
Zombies are intended to automate production.
The official Zombies 2.0 diary says undead workers can operate semi-automatic machines, develop skills and take specialised roles. It does not document a five-to-six-item work limit or explain the current stopping report.

Report status
One thread is a lead, not a verdict.
This page exists because more than one participant in the same live demo discussion described the symptom. It will not call that a confirmed game-wide bug until more reproducible evidence or an official acknowledgement appears.
